These dripless baby bottle nipples (2 per package) were invented by a mother whose son used to throw bottles or turn them upside down to watch the liquid drip. After she became tired of a car that smelled like rotten milk, she spent hours studying pressure changes and liquid flow in baby bottles and nipples to ultimately come up with the patent-pending "Baum Baum" driplesss nipple. The name "Baum Baum" is what her son used to say when he wanted his bottle. These nipples only drip when the baby is sucking. Therefore it is more like a mother's breast! It may also reduce the incidence of "bottle mouth" as the nipple only releases liquid when they suck....so if they fall asleep with the bottle, liquid will not pool in their mouth, which can cause tooth decay. Also, because it only releases fluid when sucked, it may reduce the incidence of "tougue thrust" which can cause a need for future orthodontic work (tongues thrusting forward can casue "buck teeth" because infants push their tongues forward to stop fluid flow).
